E. G. Cunningham was born in Columbia, South Carolina in 1985. She has earned degrees from the University of South Florida, the Iowa Writers' Workshop, and the University of Georgia. She received the 2017 LUMINA Nonfiction Award for her essay "The Exedra." She lives in California.
